Obituary of Kenneth Munroe

Munroe, Kenneth (Kenny), 71, passed away on January 17, 2026, in Necum Teuch, N.S. Kenny was born in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, to the late Carl and Nita (Burke) Munroe. From an early age, he developed a wide range of interests, including electronics, astronomy, astrophysics, music, and creative crafts, such as painting. Music remained an important part of his life; he wrote and recorded songs, primarily on guitar, and also played the organ, when needed at his church, the Moser River Independent Baptist, where he attended. Kenny was predeceased by his wife, Angela Geddes, the author of children's books and creator of the Scarecrows of Necum Teuch. After his wife's sudden passing, he worked to complete her final book, though his own declining health prevented finishing it. He lived alone following her death and became increasingly private, venturing out mainly for shopping and church. In later years, he chose not to share details of his health, even with family. Kenny will be remembered fondly for his music, his faith, and his struggles. He had no children. He is survived by three sisters, Elva Langley (Wayne Brightman), Isaacs Harbour, NS, Mary Naugler (Robert), Sheet Harbour, and Maxine Bond (Tom), Moser River, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday January 23 at 11:00am until the time of the funeral at 2:30pm, all in Moser River Independent Baptist Church, Pastor Larry Tirrell officiating. Burial to follow in St. James United Cemetery, East Quoddy.
