BURNS, MARLYN FAY- 82, Windsor and formerly from Marie Joseph died Thursday, October 30, 2025 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor with her family by her side. Born in Woodside, N.S. she was a daughter of the late William and Shirley (Naugle) Burns Turner. After her early education, Marny worked a short time with Maritime Tel & Tel, then she went to work at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital where she took her courses in Medical Transcriptionist. She then worked at Dartmouth General Hospital then on to work in a hospital Saudi Arabia for one year, then to Ottawa General Hospital and retired from the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Marny enjoyed travelling , collected china, sewing and collecting Robert Bateman pictures. She enjoyed dressing up and attending High Noon Tea, she also played the fiddle and loved to dance. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered at church functions in Ottawa. Survived by siblings, Linda (Dale) Beaver, Mount Uniacke, Barbara Burns, Saskatchewan, Charlene Martin, Halifax, Randy (Amanda) Turner, Marie Joseph and many nieces and nephews who were very special to her. Predeceased by Step Father, Elvin Turner, siblings, Eugene, Gary, Robert and David; niece Michelle. A graveside service will be held 11 AM Saturday November 15 in St. Matthews Anglican Cemetery, Marie Joseph. Special thanks to the nurses of the 500 Unit Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Family flowers only. Donations in Marnys’ memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
