Wade, Barry and family; I am saddened to hear of Sterling's death. I am also very grateful for the long visit I had with both Sterling and Valerie in September '23 when I was in Nova Scotia. They meant a lot to my mum and dad (Kathie and John Hryhoriw) and to me. Sterling was a sweetheart with a good sense of humour and always a twinkle in his eyes. Rest in peace, dear Sterling, held in God's love forever.
My love and prayers to you all,
Sharron

Dear Prest family, I am sad that Sterling’s life has ended. I wondered how he would cope without Valerie. “Time” is so cruel. For a lumberman to not be able to walk in the peace of the forest is tragic. Sterling was a true “gentle person “ and folks like him are no longer made. Blessings to all who love Sterling.Sincerely, Dawn MacAskill Cumming ( Granddaughter of Melvina Prest Bruce who was born in Mooseland and who was a cousin to Boyd Prest)

My father, Glenn Prest Jr. (Tunny), spoke of Sterling throughout his life with a smile on his face and a a distinct chuckle when telling stories. And even though I never knew all these wonderful family members, I grew up feeling like I was an observer in an unbelievable tale of my father's life story and a window of the past with characters only a great writer could conceive. My deepest condolences and kindest wishes for all the families during this time of goodbyes and, also, hopefully a celebration of such an adventurous life well lived.
Love and light to you All.

We grew up as one big family, summers on the eastern shore and always family celebrations. Uncle Sterling was always so handsome and debonaire. You are home now Uncle Sterling, reunited with your one true love. My thoughts are with you all. Love and hugs from Peru we do not return to Nova Scotia until November 11th.

Our childhood and adulthood was greatly enriched by the love and influence of our grandparents. Grampie loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Having him and Grammie for as long as we did was such a privilege. The hardest part about losing a grandparent is being left with the memories you can’t touch anymore. Give our love to Grammie, we love you and will miss you ❤️
