Doreen was my friend since 1973 when she came to my aid (and my husband's) when our baby died at 4 months of age. Without Doreen I don't know how I'd have made it. Her strength and humour kept me going through a lot. She was a strong person and her love, especially for Ronald, was equally as strong. She was a great person and I'll never forget her. Doreen was one of a kind and so generous with her time volunteering at Joseph Giles Elementary. Doreen never said no to anything and her contribution was greatly appreciated. Along with her wit and common sense approach Doreen made the the job much easier for staff and students alike. May she rest in peace.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
