I will miss my visits with Aunt Margaret even though they weren't as often as I would have liked. I wanted to surprise her on my last visit and she was the one that surprised me. She left for Ottawa the day before I got there. On one of my visits, between our birthdays last year, we were browsing around the stores in Sheet Harbour and we were admiring all the trinkets at Lawtons and bought a boxed cup and saucer as birthdays gifts to each other. She said it would mean more doing it that way instead of buying one for ourselves. A special memory and treasure to me!
Aunt Margaret had very high standards and she followed them her whole life. She was loving, caring, giving and had very strong opinions. I will remember her laugh and smile and the light that lit up her eyes when she was telling me a funny story. She loved to have people visit and always wanted you to stay longer when you were ready to leave. Hope you have lots of visits now with your family and friends.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
