Obituary of Rocky Michael Kenney

Please share a memory of Rocky to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rocky Michael Kenney, beloved son, brother, and friend, at the age of 23. Rocky was born on June 5, 2002, in Halifax, and tragically passed away on September 26, 2025, as a result of an ATV accident. Rocky was the cherished son of Mike and Natasha (Cooper) Kenney and the loving brother of Nikita (Victoria). He is also survived by his faithful feline companion Friskie, his many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his special friend Kaylee Gracie. He was predeceased by his grandparents Harry and Ruth Kenney and Wallace and Annabelle Cooper, as well as his special aunt Irene—all of whom are now watching over him. Rocky was a proud pipe fitter with JD Irving in Halifax, working diligently toward achieving his red seal certification. He was a hardworking young man who loved his trade and was always striving to improve. When he wasn't working, Rocky was the life of the party. He loved being outdoors—whether he was hunting, fishing, boating, playing softball, or biking, you could count on him to bring his trademark energy and sense of humor. Rocky had a special place in his heart for camping with his family and spending time at Wade’s Camp with friends and his Dad, who was his best friend. He was kind, caring, and always had a big smile and hug to share with everyone he met. Rocky’s family and friends will remember him for his infectious laughter, his generous spirit, and his unwavering loyalty. He had an innate ability to make people feel welcome and loved, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of Rocky’s life will be held at his Aunt Karens and Uncle Matthews, 18308 Highway 7 Popes Harbour, on Saturday October 4 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to hug your loved ones a little tighter, as Rocky would have done. Donations in Rocky’s memory may be made to the Sheet Harbour Snowmobile and ATV club via e-transfer to shatv22@gmail.com. Rest in peace, Rocky. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
