Obituary of Nikki Hynes

May 12th 1975-September 26th 2025 Nikki always could be found on the ball field or around one, especially raising money for the annual Breast Cancer Tournament in Sheet Harbour. Proud Newfoundlander, hockey fan and baseball fan Nikki never was shy in telling you why her team was the best. From sharing her thoughts over an ice-cold ginger ale or sitting around the “back deck” you can bet she would share her opinion but always listen to yours. The collector of too many hoodies and sneakers, random ice cream runs or spur of the moment shopping sprees. She was a spur of the moment and live in the moment girl, always ready with some honesty you may not have liked but also never knew you needed to hear. If you were lucky enough Nikki shared with you the many stories of her beloved “Papa”, Uncle Fred and growing up as a hockey bum in Newfoundland. If you were lucky enough, she shared some of her most favorite memories and if you are lucky enough, may you never forget them. Left with many fond and treasured memories are partner Holly, Mom Lola Ogden (Bernie), sister Sabrina (Dean) and niece Briana. Mother in-law Heather (Donald), sisters in law Lori (Shane), Christie (Jody), nieces and nephews Zack, Spencer, Kori and Brody. Special Mention to the Christina to her Merideth; Liz Baker, and many other friends. Shout out to her love of the game members, her softball family, Jags, Sluggers, Vixens, PBG and Divas. Predeceased by her father Wilfred Hynes, step father Mike Pare and father-in-law Terry Carver, grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and her person, her grandmother Georgie. Nikki is now “safe at home” Special thanks Dr. Karla Willows & Cassandra King and team and all the staff at the QE2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nikki’s name to the Gynecology/Oncology department at the Dickson center in Halifax. Special thank you to D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
