Sean worked with me at the Halifax Chamber of Commerce in Membership Sales. A mere blip in his varied lifetime experiences, I now realize.
Leading a business organization, I was somewhat taken aback when I first met Sean, with his tattoos and laissez-faire attitude.
However, he was successful in this environment. He was ever the gentleman and made sure to wear crisp white shirts that hid his "other side" when stepping into the business community which, at that time, may have been a tad formal!
He was with us for a few years and then went on to another opportunity. His true passion is evident in the posting of his death. Nary a mention of his time with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. And no wonder!
Working with us for Sean was a means to an end: to have a secure income to support his family, while pursuing his real interest in music and all that it entailed.
I grew to love Sean and very much enjoyed working with him. I have very fond memories of a great co-worker and dad. We shared stories of kids in hockey - it made me smile to think of him at the rink and what the other parents may have thought of this wonderful, tattooed dad. Tattoos were much less in evidence at that time and he would have stood out.
He loved his children so much. It was evident in everything he said and did.
His early departure from us will be mourned by many who knew him much more than I did, but I wanted to mention his time with me in the business world and his wonderful chameleon-like ability to relate to so many people from so many backgrounds.
And his wearing his heart on his sleeve in his love and dedication to his children.
Rest in peace, Sean. You were loved by many.

Dear Family.
Sorry to read about your loss.
Sean always brought a sense of calm and friendlyness to situations, which leadership skills came in handy in the context of his lengthy tenure as President of the Dartmouth Whalers minor hockey association
Please accept my sympathies.
Sincerely, Sean Layden.

My Thoughts And Prayers For You All During This Difficult Time.
Sean was such and still is such an inspiration to me and my being an East Coast Promoter/Publisher in The USA. He interviewed so many of my artists I referred to him as well as myself .
He was and still to me a one in a million

Like many many people, the news of Sean’s passing was a complete shock. After frequent run in’s in the Dartmouth area, Sean always greeted me with a friendly smile and a chat to quickly catch up. We became fast friends during our volunteer time spent with Female SEDMHA. A huge backer of the girls game, and shared ideals..it was a success like much of what Sean had touched. Our family would like to extend our sincere condolences in his passing and hope you can find comfort in his memories shared.
