Croft of Halifax, NS. Joe’s grandsons, Christian Pearson-Lund and Colby Wood, along with step-grandson, Sacha McDonnell. His family were his pride and joy.

In 1967, Joe moved to Nova Scotia where he met his wife, Pauline. He was immediately welcomed into the family. Joe taught his stepdaughter, Toni how to trout fish, and shared his passion of Star Trek and wrestling during weekend visits to Moser River. He was employed with Dominic/Queen Square Development Limited for 51 years, and owned J.R. Poulin Cleaning Services Ltd. for 27 years. Joe was an avid gardener with “green thumb”, his backyard looks like a small park, and he shared his vegetable garden offerings with family and neighbours. Sunflowers were his passion, as was his garden. Joe built the family home in Moser River. In 1993, the family moved to Cole Harbour. He added his personal touches with expert renovations to their house. He made countless airplane and bird windmills. He and Pauline enjoyed travelling throughout Canada, Mexico, England and Maine, along with many day trips. Joe was always happy to go “home” to Quebec to visit his family, pay respect to his parents and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. Joe achieved his black belt in taekwondo and taught it with great pride. He also achieved his brown belt in karate. He liked to keep active with daily walks and regular trips to Canadian Tire.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister Gisèle, his brothers-in-law, Alcide Roberge, Guy Théberge, Jean-Guy Rouillard and Alan Croft; parents-in-law, Ellsworth and Anna (Shiers) Croft, puppy, Heidi, and Grand puppy, Rascal (Frisco – Joe’s nickname for Rascal).
Special thank you to the staff at Dartmouth General Hospital for the care and compassion exhibited to Joe and his family, along with neighbours, Pat and Heidi Bitonti.
