





Obituary of Melvin Russell Chambers

Chambers, Melvin Russell- 68, Marie Joseph died Friday May 16, 2025 at Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour. Born in Sheet Harbour March 28, 1957 he was a son of the late Russell & Alma (Feltmate) Chambers. Melvin started fishing at the young age of 13 with his father, in his later years he did handyman carpentry with Ken Burrows, whom he became very good friends with. Melvin enjoyed playing darts, cards, crib and loved his little fur babies. Survived by his daughter Caitlin, Lawrencetown, caregiver Sandra Hatfield, sisters; Debbie (Vernie) Rudolph, Alberta, Leona (Bruce) Fleet, Dartmouth, sister-in-law Mary Feltmate, Antigonish; chosen daughter Angelina (Kris) Fowler and Angelina’s children who Melvin chose as his grandchildren Tristan, Dominic, Lyndon and Trinity, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Doug Feltmate. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to send a special thank you to Emilie Comeau RN with the Haematology Dept. at the QEII VG Site, the In Home Blood Collection specialists Paula and Janelle, also the palliative care team and Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital and Dr. Peter Coleman. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
