Laura: I met Francis while he was working for Wentworth Anderson. He would drive Went's truck to haul silage at our farm. I would see him often when he worked at the Municipal Dump and he always had a smile and a chat. He was a kind and good gentleman who enjoyed hunting at the lodge with his buddies. I had the pleasure of knowing Francis for over 15 years, he was one of a kind to say the least. So many laughs were had at the camp and around the kitchen table at the house.Francis always told me he doesn’t get mad he get even! Which he was good at. The stories he shared where entertaining and and he always had something smart to say for sure! He will be greatly missed. Condolences to the family

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Francis' passing. It was always great talking with him wherever I met him, whether at Liscomb Mills or Withrow's garden centre in Belnan. A few weeks ago when I was pulling out of the camp driveway, he was out in the yard, and he waved. He was tinkering with something, as I often seen him doing.
He will be missed and thought of for many years to come. To Laura, Trevor and the rest of the family, you have my sympathy. Another piece of Liscomb Mills from my childhood has passed.

He will be missed so much always enjoyed talking to him and hearing his stories. We always enjoyed seeing him out fishing in the harbour and talking about how many mackerel we didn’t get. My prayers are with you and your family.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
