






Obituary of Carol Louise Hemsworth

Hemsworth, Carol Louise- 78, Sober Island, Nova Scotia passed away Friday April 11, 2025, in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born in London, Ontario January 14, 1947, she was the only daughter of the late Ronald & Kathleen “Lorna” (Kirby) Grindley. Carol, along with her husband were franchise owners of Robins Donuts. She was a tenacious yet caring and supportive mother and wife. Carol enjoyed dancing with her husband, listening to Elvis tunes, shopping, visiting with friends and in her later years spending winters in Florida. Survived by husband of 59 years Terry, daughters; Kelly (Douglas) Campbell, Sterling Heights, Michigan, Tracy Hemsworth, Woodstock, Ontario, son Robert (Crystal) Hemsworth, Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, grandchildren; Mason and Connor Campbell, Codi (Kaitlyn) Hemsworth, Nickolas Hemsworth, Alex Cole, Brooklyn and Brady Jankowski and 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by granddaughter Carleigh Campbell. A graveside committal service will be held on May 7, 2025, at 2pm at St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery Columbarium, Watt Section, Rev. Dr. Michael Foley officiating. A Celebration of Life to be held in Woodstock, Ontario in the summer. We will notify friends and family of the date at a later time. Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
