Myrene, Michael, Danielle and families,
Wade was the kindest, most giving person. He brightened many a long shift, usually he would be on the unit before we even had chance to ask for help. He was loved by patients, residents and staff alike. We all knew we could count on him. Many times after a big storm we would go to our car to find Wade had already cleaned it off and warmed it up.
He could always be counted on for a bit of fun, often involving water or booby traps for the next shift! He loved his ice cream and shared it happily.
RIP Wade. I hope you get to have the biggest water fight ever!

Myrene, Danielle, Michael and families, my deepest sympathy for you all.
I was a lucky one, who got to grow up with Wade. From playing ball at Harry Halls field, swimming at the sandpit, skating on the pond or coasting on the hill. One of my most fun memories, was getting a ride on his dirt bike. I was walking home one night from a dance, he stopped and picked me up. Before I knew it, we were racing up through the Commons, with a car chasing close behind lol. That was a hard one to explain to mom why my white jeans were full of mud. Later years, we did coasting, skating, swimming and camping with our kids together. I don’t think Wade knew how many fresh vegetables he supplied me in the summer. You will be missed ❤️

I bumped into him in a few occasions since my days there and of course he was still smiling, friendly and made me feel like he was glad to see me…. no surprise with Wade. We are extremely sad to realize that Wade had to leave the world so early. As a student during his teen years we knew no other that had such a unique and likeable personality and whom we can still recall with fondness 60 years later. How delighted we were to know he became a part of our family when he married Myrene. Our sincerest condolences to Myrene, Danielle, Michael and families. Dear Myrene, Danielle, Michael and families.
Your description of Wade so truthfully told the story of a very special human being. I knew Wade from the time he was just a little boy- and threw rocks at me while we waited for the school bus. From the time your family began living across the road from my parents both you, Myrene , and Wade were extremely good to them. After Dad passed, although it was late when Wade finished work he would see Mom’s light on and would stop in before heading home. Many nights he played crib with her before taking his weary self home. Our family was grateful for everything you both did for her. When I read your “story” of Wade’s life it brought a smile to my face when you said that many times his payment was a pie. Mom always told me about the many jobs he did for her- and all he wanted was a pie. It’s hard to imagine Wade being gone so soon- May he have eternal rest. I am saddened that we are out of the country and will not be able to say our final goodbye but our prayers will be with you all. Sincerely, Reta and Glen McKay

I’ve told this story to many and I am going to tell it again. I was new to the family moving in with Wade’s brother in law Grant. I brought a 5 year old son Jordan to the relationship and Grant son Peter was turning 7 on October 30th. I had a birthday party for Peter and Wade brought his children up. I barely knew Wade but I had made a piñata for the children and it was in the basement. While we went down to break the piñata Wade stayed upstairs and when I came back up my dishes from the party were all done and he was sweeping the floors. I knew right then and there he was a special man and Myrene was a lucky woman. Over the next 32 years he just proved I was right, showing so much love and kindness to everyone. He gave the best shoulder rubs and he will be forever missed.
