"To know her was to love her" and Holly was so right when she said that! Sister #4, my sister from another mister. Family meals sure have changed yet again. You and Emily are so missed. You will always be the "Polo" to my "Marco". The only person I knew to pitch a game of ball with a tea bag in her mouth. The dedication she gave to all she did was something I marveled at. I will always remember her as a superstar, one of the good ones, the strongest and bravest person. She faced life head on the good, the bad and the ugly and never lost her spark. Well Nik, you'll always be younger me. "Forever 50". Rest easy now Nik. That last afternoon on the deck with you will be a cherished memory for me. Just wish I'd have stayed a little longer, and hugged you real tight before I left.

Being around a person like Aunt Nikki is like being wrapped in love, she had a natural way of making everyone feel safe, seen, and cherished. She continuously showed up for the most important moments of my life and the little ones too, and I have no doubt she will continue to show up moving forward. I am forever grateful for the love that she gave me and so proud of the person that she is. She taught me strength, vulnerability, and positivity to name a few. Her laugh was contagious and pure. When I think of Nikki I think of the most beautiful brown eyes, a smile that could warm anyone's heart, and just a genuinely sweet and kind person ❤️ She would give you the shirt off her back, and had given me so much over the years. I'll always remember helping Holly with all of the little projects Nikki wanted done around the house, and Holly always made sure those projects got done. While working away Nikki would always come out making sure we were all well fed and holding in there okay ❤️ One thing I will cherish the most are the little chats we'd have in between getting those projects done. We'd all take a break and sit on the back deck and chat and laugh, it's those little things that now mean the most. Your presence will be so so missed, but never forgotten. I had been in Nikki’s orbit for many years, but it wasn’t until 2024 that I had the privilege of working closely with her. Anyone who had the opportunity to spend time with Nikki knew how special she was. Her energy was unmatched. Nikki was a doer. She didn’t just talk about ideas, she quickly jumped in to make them happen, and she encouraged my silly ideas with genuine enthusiasm (and power tools when necessary). Being around Nikki was inspiring and grounding all at once. She had a natural way of putting things into perspective and not get caught up in the small stuff. She reminded me to treat myself and to remember that I was worth it. Life’s too short to worry about how you’re slicing a cake, just cut the damn thing. It’ll be fine. I miss you.

I’ll forever miss my nini. ❤️ she was my god mama by choice and I’ll never forget our memories together. she spent almost every day with me when I was young and made sure that she stuck around as I grew up whether it was her stopping in during Christmas, taking me out for a day, sneaking away from the ball game to grab some smash burgers (her favorite) or coming down to watch my softball which she was so supportive about and always encouraged me on and off the field. Cancer rips the life out of the people you love fast, and harshly. I can’t wrap my head around not seeing her again. I’ll always love you my nini and I’ll see you when I get there to enjoy some smash burgers and play come catch. ❤️ You are so strong Holly, I love you so much. I can’t wait to see you again.

I’m not sure where to start and where to end, When I think about what to say about Nikki or the impact she had on our families lives as there is no beginning and no end. It’s hard to remember a life without you in it and I don’t intend to start now. The love you shared was immense and one that will last a lifetime. You’ve taught us all so much about who we are and who we want to be. You were one of a kind and I’ve never met anyone quite like you. There was a place in my family made for you that no one knew was even there until it became yours. You not only added to it, but you completed it. I grew up closely with Nikki and my godmothers family. In early years we spent time with them in port au port but then they moved to St. John’s. I remember driving out there to visit for Nikki’s prom. I’ll never forget her red dress. I was in awe. She also wore a leather jacket that I can still see her in right now. I just thought she was the coolest. Another fond memory I have of her is when I visited Halifax to surprise my godmother. And other visits included the birth of my beautiful goddaughter. I stayed at her house and spent time there. She had always welcomed me with open arms. We spent so many special moments together. I will always remember Wilfred and how close him and Nikki were. More memories include her and hollys trip home for godmothers birthday and got to meet my two kids. That was very special to me ❤️ The last memories I have was her visit home to see us this summer. She brought my son Jett home some time hortons cards with her and it was the highlight of his life I’m pretty sure. He still looks at them all the time. She was a strong, fierce person who even in the face of sickness had a smile and a positive outlook. I’ll never forget the last hug we shared. I’ll always remember you xx

Nikki was born almost exactly two years before I was. Two years minus only one day. Some of my fondest memories of Nikki are of our many shared birthday celebrations-complete with matching outfits. We were fortunate to recreate that experience decades later-and not without matching t-shirts. Growing up I didn’t feel like Nikki and Sabrina’s cousin but more like their middle sister. Lola my second mom. I had the best childhood and Nikki is such an huge part of those memories. Not just our shared birthday parties but also the frequent sleepovers, playing ball at her house on the hill in Port Aux Port, riding our bikes all day long and building jumps that Nikki was the only one brave enough to jump (she always got huge air and made it look so easy!). We loved going to visit aunt Georgie for our cup of “coffee” and a few games of crib. We also loved watching Dukes of Hazard and pretending we were Luke and Daisy Duke trying to escape the evil clutches of Boss Hogg. To this day when I hear that theme song it reminds me of her and all of our Dukes adventures. As the years passed by, we saw each other less frequently but I will cherish each and every moment we did. Nikki was such a special human and so many lives were enriched because of her presence. I love her and miss her. ❤️❤️

Nikki, was first to call me, Mom. It was music to my ears. We talked nearly everyday sometimes about important things or just to share a laugh. She will be missed each and every day but I will hold on to the many wonderful memories that we shared. She is with her Papa, Grammie, Uncle Jody, Aunt Noelle and Aunt Donna and her person Nanny Georgie. Until we are together again, I will carry her in my heart. Love her so much.

Holly, I can't put into words how deeply sorry I am for your loss. You have been a pillar of strength. My arms are wrapped around you with love and support. Nikki, although we'd only knew each other the last few years, WOW did we ever connect & bond, even provinces apart. We got to know each other through teams and our many FaceTime calls :-) You always made me belly giggle. You were genuine, the real deal and so damn kind and generous. You taught me so much about being a leader, I will always hold your wise words close to my heart. I remember Facetiming Nikki when I saw you both on CP24 at the Montreal Hockey game, I was so excited and was trying to show you guys on the telly while you were driving. Nikki and I are giggling like school kids while Holly is navigating Montreal traffic and Nikki isn't paying attention to the helping with directions lol. Once you guys were out of Montreal, she called me back and we all had a great laugh, and I got to hear the story. It was a great fun moment I won't forget. I will miss you so very much, you'll always be close to my heart. Till we meet again Nikki.

In Loving Memory of Nikki Nikki and I grew up side by side, inseparable through so many of life’s first adventures. We spent countless hours at the ball diamond, Kippens Park, dances, and always bouncing back and forth between her house and mine. We laughed until our sides hurt, shared our secrets and our tears, and did just about everything together. She was my very first best friend, and she’ll always hold that place in my heart. After high school we followed different paths—me to Ontario and Nikki to Nova Scotia. Life, as it does, pulled us into different directions, but we never truly lost touch. We reached out whenever we could. Nikki was pure fun: always laughing, always teasing, always ready to help anyone who needed her. She had a heart as big as her smile and a spirit that filled every room. She shared a special bond with my mom that I’ll always cherish.
